''Groupwork changes a teacher's role dramatically. No longer are you a direct supervisor of students, responsible for insuring that they do their work exactly as you direct. No longer it is your responsibility to watch every for every mistake and correct it on the spot. Instead, authority is delegated to students and to groups of students. They are in charge of insuring that the job gets done, that classmates get the help they need. They are empowered to make mistakes, to find out what went wrong, and what might be done about it.'' (Elizabeth Cohen, Designing groupwork: strategies for the heterogeneous classroom, 1986)
Positive interdependence = work together in order to accomplish a common goal

What does working in a group look like?
When working in a group, one need to focus equally on attaining academic objectives as well as social objectives
Academic objectives refer to how well students carried out and completed the assigned task and adjusted their working according to feedback provided by the teacher when applicable
Social objectives involves processing how well the group functioned, and in particular how successfully group members enacted the expected social skill ( it would become very useful to reflect on what went well and determine what could be improved for next time)
